Tom Crowl's Cultural Diversity Assembly
Program
A 45 minute assembly program of comedy, magic, audience participation and fun that discusses a very serious topic.
During the course of the assembly show Tom introduces students to the idea of how thoughts affect our lives and the way we interact with others.
Students will begin to see everyone is different - including them! They will be encouraged to embrace these differences!
Students are introduced to the meaning of the words "stereotype" and "prejudice". Simple, non-threatening and thought-provoking examples of these terms are offered as Tom shows students not everyone, or everything is what or how we think it may be!
Throughout the program - respect, responsibility and self-worth are highlighted. Students are encouraged to follow their dreams, since people who feel good about themselves tend to treat other people better.
When the assembly is over - your students will have a new perspective about respecting others and their differences.
The program acts as a springboard for discussion between students, their teachers and their parents.
The Cultural Diversity
School Assembly Program runs approximately 45 minutes
The program consists of
Tom and Pam the Magic Pig
Assembly Program provides
its own sound system with wireless microphone.
Single, Back-to-Back and
Morning/Afternoon Hold-over Assemblies are available.
Tom performs his School
Assembly programs in Maryland and parts of Pennsylvania & Virginia.
Other areas may be scheduled by tour.
Please e-mail.
Show must be performed on a
stage with steps leading to audience. If no stage is available
the program may be performed in a gymnasium with students seated in
bleachers.
No, you may NOT kiss
the pig.
Students, teachers and staff are not allowed to touch or feed Pam.
Set-up requires 1 hour
which can be done behind a closed stage curtain so it does not interfere
with other cafeteria/gymnasium activities.
Packing and load out requires approximately 35 minutes.
To get the full impact of this program, we recommend you DO NOT mention the pig to students. Leading up to the event, simply letting them know they will see a magic show is all that is needed. Even during the introduction - no mention of the pig, cultural diversity, prejudice or stereotypes is desired. By following these simple guidelines, students will be more open to the discussions and events that take place during the program.
PLEASE NOTE:
Tom does not perform at three to four schools a day like some school performers. He prefers to limit himself to one school, unless schools prefer to combine travel - in which case he will perform at two schools in one day. By doing this, he insures that he will be at the school, ready for performance on time and can keep the performance(s) fresh.Educational School Assemblies - School Assembly Pricing - School Assembly References
